At Slaphappy Hemp Company, our commitment to supporting veterans and advocating for mental health and hemp farmers is unwavering. Monday our founders, Kara and John Grady, took their advocacy efforts to the heart of legislative action, that wretched hive of scum and villanry—the Missouri Capitol. Kara prepared with bail money for John, just in case things got heated. They were ready to push for meaningful change. However, with the Senate in filibuster mode, nothing is getting passed, which means that as long as the filibuster lasts, Missouri hemp farmers can breathe a sigh of relief this session. The filibuster is scheduled to last until 5 pm on Friday, giving us more hope that SB 984 and HB 1781 will die this session. Nonetheless, we remain vigilant.
The reason for our visit? We are passionately inviting Senators and Representatives to the VFW Post 2661 Mental Health and Wellness Fair happening this Saturday, May 18th, in Washington, MO. This fair is a critical event for veterans and the community, offering a wide range of resources to support mental health and well-being.
The fair will feature informational booths on various therapies and services, including Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT), Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS), Behavioral Health Services, Psychedelic Research, and Cannabis (CBD/THC) therapies. Additionally, there will be resources for counseling, chiropractic care, equine therapy, hypnosis, Christian resources, Alcoholics Anonymous, Krav Maga, and more.
Our goal is to bring awareness to the importance of mental health services and to provide veterans with access to the support they need. Veteran Service Officers will also be on-site to help with VA benefits, ensuring that veterans receive the assistance they deserve.
We invite everyone to join us this weekend and show their support for our veterans. The event will run from 9 am to 2 pm, and there will be concessions, giveaways, and plenty of opportunities to learn about the various services available.
At Slaphappy Hemp Company, we believe in the power of community and the importance of accessible mental health care. Join us in making a difference and advocating for those who have served our country and for the future of Missouri hemp farming.
